Bible Study

       Bible Study with Pastor

Do you have worries, anxieties and stress over things in your life (both real and imagined)?  Welcome to the club.   We all do to a certain extent.   And yet Jesus would continually tell his followers not to fret and “peace be with you” which means you need not worry so much.  That’s where faith and trust in God come into play.  This fall we will once again embark on what hopes to be an interesting bible study class on the topic of “Worry and Faith”.

Then, with All Saints Day coming in early November, we will move on to study some of the great Saints of the Christian Church.  The Lutheran Confessions call on us to remember those who have gone before us in the sign of faith and to give thanks for their faithful witness to that faith.  And so, for the next five weeks, we will try to do just that.   Various days on our fall calendar mark the deaths of many of those saints - St. Augustine (Aug. 28), St. Jerome (Sept.30), St. Francis of Assisi (Oct. 4), St. Ignatius of Antioch (Oct. 17) and St. Martin of Tours, whom Martin Luther was named after (Nov. 11).  They will all be topics of our study as we will attempt to look at some of the specific bible verses that inspired them and their ministries.

Gatherings will begin on September 14th, Tuesday evening at church (downstairs in the Adult Study Classroom) from 7- 8 p.m. and/or on September 16th, Thursday morning at Sanatoga Retirement Community Center from 10-11 a.m.  These sessions will conclude on November 9th and 11th .

Everyone is invited and will be welcomed!
