Our next rejoicing spirits worship, an inclusive worship with individuals with developmental disabilities, is on Wednesday, February 8 at 7 p.m. All are invited to come and worship. Bible study with pastor continues this week. This study will look at what the bible has to say about children. Discussion will include what instruction the word of God gives on bringing up children. Meetings are at St. James on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. and at Sanatoga Ridge Retirement Community on Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. Children’s choir is every sunday from 10 -10:25 a.m. Children ages 3 1/2 thru Grade 4 are welcome to come join us. Do you like helping behind the scenes? Do you like making people feel welcome? Then you have the gifts to be a part of the Lenten Hospitality Team. This team will be responsible for the set up and clean up of our Lenten Soup Suppers. No special skills are required except for a willingness to help. Usually team members help with 2 or 3 of the meals. Please see a full description of the responsibilities of the team and sign up in Horn Hall if you are interested in serving in this way. Ash wednesday worship is february 22nd with worship at 2 and 7 p.m. We will offer the tradition of imposition of ashes, in addition to Holy Communion at both services. Do we have your e-mail address? Anyone who has jars from purchasing applesauce, soups or sauces may return them to the kitchen so they can be used again. Thank you. WELCA upper montgomery conference bible study will be held at Grace Lutheran, Pottstown on February 7, at 10 a.m. with coffee at 9:30. The leader will be Barbara Lisi and she will present Tough Questions (Mark 10:49). Looking for a way to honor or remember loved ones? Please consider sponsoring the flowers, bulletin or eternal flame. The cost of each sponsorship is as follows: $15 for eternal light, $30 for altar flowers, and $15 for bulletins. Cash (in an envelope specifying what it is for) or checks (with it noted in the memo section) can be placed in the offering plate or turned into the office. Sign-up sheets are posted in Horn Hall near the kitchen for anyone interested. Individuals in need of prayer may be added to our prayer list found on the Guide to Daily Prayer by using the communication cards located in the pews or by informing Suzanne Rigg who maintains the prayer list. Individuals will stay on the list for four weeks unless otherwise indicated. Snow/ice cancellations: Please call the church or check the church’s website (www.stjamespottstown.org) for a message regarding cancellations or changes in the Sunday morning schedule due to inclement weather or listen to WPAZ 1370 AM or watch for an announcement on WFMZ Channel 69 or at wfmz.com (look for St. James ELC - Pottstown).
