Congregational meeting is today at 10:30 a.m. This special meeting is to call/hire a new Director of Music. Please plan to attend. Movie night starts concludes this week. Movie Night will continue this Thursday evening, September 2 at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. This week’s movie is Blind Side: (2009, PG13) –A true story about second chances and a Christian woman who does more than just talk about her faith in Jesus. It’s been said that audiences in theaters have erupted into applause at the end of this film. We return to two worship services on september 12th . Starting then worship will be at 8 and 10:45 a.m. Children's Church resumes during the 10:45 a.m. worship and will be for children preschool-Kindergarten (meeting in the nursery) and children grades 1-5 (meeting in Horn Hall). Rejoicing spirits 5k Run and 1 k walk is on september 18 at 8:30 a.m. at Pickering Valley Elementary School, 121 Byers Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425. All runners registered by Sept. 1st are guaranteed a t-shirt. There will be refreshments and awards for the top finishers. Pick up registration forms in Horn Hall or register on-line: www.rejoicingsprits.org. Looking for individuals to be children's church leadersChildren Church leaders oversee a class of either preschool and Kindergarten children or children in grades 1-5. Leaders teach a bible story and do an activity with the children during the first half of the 10:45 a.m. worship service. Training and curriculum are provided. If anyone is interested in being a leader, please contact Suzanne Rigg at 610-326-2810. The nursery will not be staffed during summer worship, but will be available to parents to use as needed. Activity bags and children’s bulletins with activities and puzzles will be available weekly during the summer. Please see an usher if you need one for your child(ren). Bible study with pastor begins in september. We will with begin with a bible study class on the topic of “Worry and Faith”. Then, with All Saints Day coming in early November, we will move on to study some of the great Saints of the Christian Church. Class begins September 14, at the church (downstairs in the Adult Study Classroom) from 7 – 8 pm and/or on September 16 at Sanatoga Retirement Community Center from 10- 11 am. These sessions will conclude on November 9th and 11th. Everyone is invited and will be welcomed! Sunday morning adult education begins september 12 with two classed being offered at 9:30 a.m. Seasons of the Spirit is a lectionary-based Bible study that will be held weekly in the Adult Study classroom and a study with Pastor Hutchinson will be held weekly in the Blue Room. A confirmation parents and students meeting will be held on September 12 at 9:30 in the youth room. This meeting is required of all parents and students. If you cannot attend please contact Suzanne (srigg@stjamespottstown.org). Don’t forget to purchase scrip or fairly traded items. Available in Horn Hall each and every week. Nursery attendants needed. Do you love young children? If so, please consider sharing some of that love by serving in our nursery on Sunday mornings. Additional nursery attendants are needed for the nursery during our 10:45 a.m. service in the fall, winter and spring. Please contact Suzanne (610-326-2810) for more information or to express your interest in helping. Individuals in need of prayer may be added to our prayer list on the Guide to Daily Prayer by using the communication cards located in the pews. Please include your name on the communication card. Also communicate when someone can be removed from the list. Swahili word of the week: This week’s word is kuza, which is Swahili for “praise.” Donations to the pottstown cluster outreach center may be brought to church on Sundays, and placed in the basket located in Horn Hall or in the basket by the lower level mailboxes located at the bottom of the stairs closest to the parking lot.
