Your sins are forgiven

Lent is a reflective season in the church. Many give something up … coffee, sweets, etc. Someone recently said, we should instead give up our disbelief. The nagging little voice that tells us God does not love or forgive us. For the next couple of blogs, you can read a conversation between that voice and the Bible.

But you can't even keep the commandments – and there are only 10 of them.

Jesus said, "Your sins are forgiven." (Luke 5:20; 7:48)

Well – you don't even KNOW the 10 commandments.

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart. You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Mark 12:29-31)

You are so unsophisticated, such a simple thinker – you will never have a place in the kingdom.

Jesus said, "Whoever welcomes a child in my name welcomes me." (Luke 9:48)

You? You can't even notice God when he is right in front of you.

They told of how Christ had been made known to them in the breaking of the bread. (Luke 24:35)

Your faith is not real, or you could see and walk with Jesus.

He is not here … He is risen. (Luke 24:5)

You are such a scare-dy cat.

"Do not be afraid – it is I." Then Jesus got into the boat with them. (Mark 6:50-51)
