Prayer for reunion at the border
As a mother and grandmother, I cannot imagine being separated from my child or grandchild without filling up with tears. Jace has known his parents’ voice since before birth. Babies thrive and are calmed through touch (and many cultures count the age of a baby up to at least two years old). Trauma, even at the youngest ages, has consequences later on. When I change a diaper, offer a kiss, talk with Jace, support his parents … I also pray that families might remain together, even at our borders. Anything else is wrong. It is tragic. It is unnecessary.
